Changsha Mayor Meets with CEO of Fiat China

Changsha Mayor Zhang Jianfei met in Changsha with CEO of Fiat China Franco Amadei and his delegation on Jan.13 to discuss the company s new project in Changsha.

The GAIG-FIAT joint project in Changsha is scheduled to be put into production in 2012, with 140,000 finished vehicles and 220,000 engines expected to be produced every year at the first phase, and 250,000 finished vehicles and 300,000 engines at the second phase.

A kind of certified low-emission prototype vehicle will be unveiled by the end of this year and put into mass production in next May. A brand new industrial platform will also come into being.

Mayor Zhang remarked that the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and Changsha Municipal People s Government have attached great importance to the GAIG-FIAT joint project and hope that the manufacturer can consider and satisfy the customers needs in an all-round way.

Zhang also pledged that Changsha government will well serve the smooth operation of the project at an early date.
