The Press Conference on Hunan s Mother River Protection Project Held

The press conference on the campaign of the youths commitment to the protectioon of mother river in Hunan (the Xiangjiang River) was held in Changsha Dolton Hotel on March 1, 2011.

On behalf of the organizers, Yan Hailin, deputy secretary of the CYL Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Leading Group Office for Mother River Protection of Hunan Province, briefed the present news media on relevant situation of the campaign.

Being the 90th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and threshold of the 12th Five-year Plan (2011-2015) of Hunan Province, 2011 also marks the 10th anniversary of China s "Mother River Protection" Day.

Efforts will be made to implement the grand strategy of the new-type industrialization, new urbanization, agricultural modernization, informatization and construction of the Two-oriented" Society formulated at the 10th Plenary Session of the 9th CPC Hunan Provincial Committee.

The concepts of green development and ecological civilization will be publicized and promoted widely to encourage and motivate young people to actively participate in the province's eco-environmental protection.

Young people both at home and overseas will be appealed and unified to contribute their own intelligence and efforts to the campaign of building the Xiangjiang River into the Oriental Rhine and forging a green Hunan.

The launching ceremony of the campaign of the youths commitment to the protection of mother river in Hunan will be held in the early March, with the Orange Isle being the main venue.
