Shanghe County: 26 Deaf Children to Recover

On February 24, 7 people of the Shandong Provincial and Municipal Disabled Federation went to ShangheCounty (a county of Jinan) to organize a project to help deaf children to recover their hearing abilities. 130,000 yuan was invested into this project which offered audiphones free of charge to 26 poor-stricken children with hearing problems. And some specialized services such as aural test, assembly and maintenance of the audiphones as well as ear-mould making, etc were provided for free. This recovery project aimed at aurally disabled children under 14 who had the needs for audiphones and indications. The aurally disabled children who suffered from poverty or who, under 6, had already entered into elementary school or kindergarten enjoyed the priority for help in this project. By taking the opportunity of the National Ear Loving Day on March 3, the Disabled Federation of Shanghe County would actively strive to provide support for the project s settlement and sturdily promote the Major Recovery Project for Disabled Children, so as to offer qualified recovery service to more disabled people.
