On November 28 and 29, Li Keqiang visited Wuhu city and Hefei city despite the rain. He inspected enterprises, workshops, science and research institutes, distribution units of power supply, as well as primary hospitals and residents places with an investigation emphasis on the economic performance and people s livelihood.
Chery Automobile Co. Ltd., located in Wuhu city, is the biggest independent brand automobile R&D and production company. Li Keqiang inquired the information on R&D, production and sales in detail. When hearing that Chery maintained strong momentum in tackling international financial crisis, Li was greatly pleased. He said that though obvious achievements have been made in fighting the crisis, it still called for our efforts to reinforce the momentum. We should keep a stable and constant macro-economic policy and make it targeted and flexible according to the new situations to further stimulate the internal driving force of economic growth. We should foster a steady and relatively fast economic development and create a better environment for enterprises. Li Keqiang also pointed out that the central provinces should make full use of their comparative advantages and follow-up strengths, accept industrial transference both home and abroad actively, introduce advanced production elements, innovate institution and mechanism and endeavor to realize development by leaps and bounds to support national development.

Li Keqiang affirmed their efforts and encouraged them to form a new competitive strength. Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, ChineseAcademy of Sciences is shouldering the task of nuclear fusion research with a final destination of exploring safe, clean and unlimited nuclear power. Li Keqiang investigated equipment for the nuclear fusion experiments and praised the researchers exploration. He emphasized that world science is preparing for important breakthroughs in technology in addressing the international financial crisis. As long as we make unremitting efforts, step up innovation, we could support the structural upgrading and sustainable economic development.
Chaohu Lake is one of the five fresh lakes in our country, which drew great concern from Li Keqiang. He paid a special visit to the banks of the lake, and inspected the implementation progress of national key scientific and technologic special project Control and Treatment of Water Pollution . Li said that a friendly environment is a productive force as well. Fostering environment protection is not only conducive to improving environment quality and people s lives but also helpful in expanding domestic demand and optimize our economic framework. We should realize the unity of economic, social and ecological returns.
Winter is an energy consumption peak. Li Keqiang came to inspect the natural gas reserve, distribution and supply. Then, he entered resident s homes to examine the gas supply and use on the spot. He said that energy is the basic drive to development, and also the important guarantee for people. We should be highly responsible for our people and ensure their need for electricity and gas.
Li Keqiang is concerned for livelihood. He visited The Second People s Hospital in Wuhu city and Hengshan health center in FanyangTownship. He stressed that we should deepen the health reform unswervingly, organize and implement basic medicine system, ensure that the medicines are cheaper, effective, sufficient, beneficial to people and inspirational to health workers. He also pointed out that we should prevent and control the A/H1N1 flu and other infectious diseases in winter.
During his investigation in Anhui, Li Keqiang listened to the work reports presented by the Provincial Central Committee of the CPC and Anhui government. He hopes that both cadres and general public can grasp the opportunities, and makecourageous efforts, in order to realize greater development in the rise of the provinces of Central China.
