Conference on Building Culturally Strong Province of Anhui Held in Hefei

A conference on building culture-rich province was held in Hefei March 22. The conference analyzed the new situations, new tasks that we are facing and mobilized all the people to seize opportunities in a bid to promote a new upsurge of culture and accelerate the transformation from culturally rich province to culturally strong province.

Zhang Baoshun, secretary of CPC Anhui Provincial Committee, and Wang Sanyun, governor of Anhui Provincial Government attended the conference and delivered a speech. Zang Shikai, standing member of CPC Anhui Provincial Committee and director of Anhui Provincial Publicity Department, presided over the conference.

Zhang pointed out that culture building was an important part of socialism with Chinese characteristics; building culturally strong province was an urgent demand for the rise of Anhui, transformation of development mode, the improvement of people's livelihood and happiness index.

Zhang added that we should realize the all-round development of both material civilization and spititual civilization at the beginning of 12th Five-Year Plan; we should have a profound understanding of the significance of speeding up culturally strong province and further raise the sense of responsibility and mission.

Zhang stressed that we should promote the innovation of systems and mechanisms and accelerate the transformation of government function in a bid to form united, competitive and well-ordered market system.

Wang stressed that we should further improve our abilities in order to tranform the advantages of cultural resources to the advantages of cultural industry; we should produce a batch of original works and build a batch of cultural facilities in an effort to enhance the influence.

Wang stressed that all the people should be united to create good situation for building culturally strong province.
