The 4th Yangtze River Delta Region (Jiangsu) Foreign Experts Supply and Demand Fair was held in Nanjing. 338 entities from Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai provided 1373 job vacancies for foreign experts and more than 700 foreigners came to find jobs at the fair.
Not wearing very formal outfit, the foreign experts walked around at the recruitment fair in a leisurely. Employers also dispatched capable employees with good mastery of foreign languages to the fair in order to attract the foreign experts.
As the Chinese saying goes, "old ginger is better than new". Experience foreign experts were well-received at the fair.
Besides cultural exchange and educational entities, many companies also anxiously look forward to "old ginger".
It has been the second time for Jiangsu to hold supply and demand fair for foreign experts exclusively. This time, the fair was sponsored by Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security of Jiangsu and Foreign Experts Affairs Bureau of Zhejiang and Shanghai and coordinated by Foreign Experts Affairs Bureau of Jiangsu.
Comparing with the previous "cultural exchange and educational foreign experts supply and demand fair", the fair this year not only expanded specialty categories of recruitment, but also broke through regional limitations for foreign experts. 736 experts from 28 countries attended the fair and 33% of them have got master's or above degrees.
Totally 461 people reached preliminary agreement.
At the fair, Jiangsu announced demand information of 439 foreign technical talent programs in 2010, covering agriculture, electronic information, mechanical automobile, energy, environment-protection chemical industry, medical treatment and public health, metallurgy, etc. Foreign experts organizations and talents institutes from Canada, France, Japan and Italy came to participate. Jiangsu is at the critical phase of expediting transformation of economic development methods. The province is taking initiatives to introduce talents from overseas countries. In recent 5 years, more than 1400 foreign technical and management talent programs have been introduced and more than 3400 person-times of experts have been recruited.
