Yesterday, Mayor Li Wancai met respectively with Zhang Xuguang, president of CDB Financial Leasing Company, and Masahiko Yamada, minister of the Japan Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
CDB Financial Leasing Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Development Bank (CDB), engaging in equity investment. Li Wancai thanked CDB for their concern and support for the opening and development of the Liaoning Coastal Economic Zone and Dalian s economic and social development. He said that, in accordance with the requirements of the Plan for the Opening and Development of the Liaoning Coastal Economic Zone, the Dalian Party Committee and the Dalian Municipal Government, with macro-urbanization as a vehicle, are expanding the urban space according to a V line between the Yellow and Bohai Seas, Shenda and Danda, planning and building 4 big groups the main city areas, new urban areas, the Bohai areas and the Yellow Sea areas to push forward a chain-style group development, to create a new pattern for a multi-center city, to increase the city s capacity and to give full play to its core role in leading regional opening and development. Dalian can not succeed in its new leap of strategic development without financial development and support. He expected that CDB Financial Leasing Company will join with Dalian in the construction and make greater contributions to economic and social development.
At the meeting with Masahiko Yamada, Li said that Dalian was one of the first open cities in China and has established a good cooperative relationship with the Japanese business communities, with more than 3,000 Japanese-funded enterprises achieving good results in the city. Dalian now has entered a period of rapid development; therefore, we will learn to develop urban agriculture from the successful experience of Japan. We expect that Mr. Masahiko Yamada s visit will further promote bilateral cooperation in relevant fields.
