On May 12th and 14th, Mayor Ji Jianye respectively met the visiting delegation led by president of INEOS Phenol, President of INEOS Olefin and Polymers Europe and the visiting delegation led by Ben Chapman, honorary Chairman of the UK All Party Parliamentary China Group.
Chapman assumed the post of chairman of UK All Party Parliamentary China Group in 1997. This group aims to enhance UK Parliament's understanding on China and China's National People's Congress, promote healthy development of bilateral relations and facilitate exchanges and cooperation of the two countries in various fields. Chapman says, they will commit themselves to the friendly exchanges between Liverpool and Nanjing, especially on trade, culture, science and education.
INEOS Group ranked third among industrial companies in the world. It owns 68 plants and is the biggest phenol-acetone manufacturer worldwide. Now, this group is preparing to establish phenol-acetone program of 400 million USD investments, jointly with Sinopec Yangzi Company, in Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park.
Ji Jianye welcomed the INEOS delegation. He says that, he has invited the guests to Nanjing during his trip in UK last month. Now they are bringing investment programs to Nanjing, which shows their sincerity of establishing friendly relationship and means a lot to their development in Asia.
Nanjing will fully support INEOS with its development in Chemical Industrial Park, provide good services. Together with INEOS, we will found a fine chemical industry focusing on phenol-acetone industrial chain, attracting more investment of downstream suppliers with more upstream products. Ji also hopes that INEOS will adhere to its environment protection principles in Nanjing as always.
The president of INEOS says, it is foresighted to attach importance to environment protection while developing industry. INEOS always upholds the concepts of safe, environment-friendly, healthy and low energy consumption. There is good prospect for their cooperation with Nanjing and hopefully, it will become the blueprint that the industry can refer to. (Nanjing Daily)
