Multinational Retail Purchasing Conference Facilitated Orders of 15.68 billion RMB

It is announced at the wrap-up meeting of the 5th Multinational Retail Purchasing Conference on 13th, transaction value during the 3-day conference reached 15.68 billion RMB, 10.5% higher than last session. The biggest order of 2 billion is on computers and components between PC Mall and Dell.

The climax of this conference came on the last day, when several big orders were signed. Purchasing agreements of totally 7.688 billion RMB were signed by Wal-Mart and Wuxi Littleswan, Carrefour and Jiangsu Yueda, Sunning Electric Appliances and Sharp, Huarun Suguo and Nanjing Sweet-scented Osmanthus Duck, PC Mall and Dell. Marks & Spencer, BOOTS and COSTA from UK, food producer Accord from France and Xiansheng from USA came to the conference for the first time and each got some benefits.

The organizer introduces that, specialized purchasers hall was set up unprecedentedly this time. Apart from receiving orders in the traditional way, converse purchasing mode was developed, i.e. purchasers demonstrating and publicizing contents and standard of purchasing, which largely improves efficiency. Wal-Mart specially issued pamphlets named How to Become A Supplier to Wal-Mart so that suppliers can thoroughly understand its requirements.

This conference also made a breakthrough in terms of internationalization loads of foreign trade goods were transferred to be sold domestically. In the near future, many popular commodities once sold in overseas countries will be available in China. At the conference site, totally 200 foreign trade companies from all over China participated in trial of domestic sales.

The 6th Multinational Retail Purchasing Conference will be held in Nanjing in May, 2011. From next year on, this conference will be held once every year instead of every two years. (Nanjing Daily)
