July 28th 31st, a batch of technical and environment-friendly outdoor equipment will be displayed at the 5th Asia Outdoor Trade Show at Nanjing International Expo Center, showing us that coffee grounds and discarded coconut shells can be made into waterproof hardshells.
The Asia Outdoor Trade Show this year is sponsored by China Council for the Promotion of International trade and Nanjing People s Government. The show covers an exhibition area of over 30,000 square meters with 321 brands. Professional visitors are expected to exceed 16,000 person-times. All three figures above set up a record. In consecutive 5 years, the scale of the show grows at 15% yearly and now it has developed to the biggest in Asia and the 3rd in the world.
Theme of this year is low-carbon . Recyclable bags will be used and new type materials such as recyclable steel structure instead of boards or wood were used when putting up exhibition booths. Outdoor equipment on display will also feature low-carbon. For example, after recycling and green processing, coffee grounds can be made into special fabric that is quick-dry and UV-resistant.
Discarded coconut shells can also be processed into wind and rain-resistant coconut fiber fabric. Such techniques have existed in European and American countries for many years and was brought into China lately. (Nanjing Daily)
