Taipei County, Villages and Towns Joined Two Cities Forum in Nanjing for the First Time

Representatives of Nanjing Municipality and Taipei County carried out discussions on green industries, urban construction and tourism development yesterday morning. At the Nanjing-Taipei County Two Cities Forum , 16 principals from related government departments of Nanjing and Taipei County delivered speeches on green economy and development of two cities, shared their experience and discussed cooperation.

Comparing with last session, Taipei County has dispatched a larger delegation this year, including principles of government department, and for the first time inviting principals of villages and towns. Thus, we can see the appeal and attention of Nanjing-Taipei cooperation.

Kong Qiuyun, director of Nanjing Municipal Investment Promotion Commission said that, low carbon industry of Nanjing is in the ascendant; new energy programs such as PV power generation and wind power generation develop rapidly. His comment got positive response from Taipei side. Li Bin, director-general of Taipei County Economic Development Bureau introduced that, the county developed green industries with huge investment last year.

This year, a green industry development center was established. Nanjing and Taipei County have great cooperative prospect. We should integrate resources of science, technology, industry, talents and market of the two sides and jointly build a green city development research institute as soon as possible, Li Bin said.

Taipei County has some specific technical cooperation proposals, hopefully to implement battery bus and battery boat production and application as soon as possible. Yesterday, a Taiwan trader drove a latest model of battery car into the meeting venue, attracting the representatives at the forum. It is the common goal of the two places to accelerate building green traffic.

Hot Spring tourism is also a topic of common interest. Today, I have brought Taipei County Self-guided Trip pamphlets for you, said Li Zonggui, director-general of Taipei County Tourism Bureau. He also gave vivid introduction to Jinshan Hill and Wanli Hot Spring. He said that, Nanjing has rich hot spring resources and innovative measure of developing resources and marketing, which worth Taipei to learn from.
