Nanjing Will Strictly Abate Air Pollution

Nanjing held Urban Environment Comprehensive Abatement Conference to identify that the city will abate industrial waste gas, fugitive dust and automobile exhaust with strict measures and mechanism. 66 mid-and-small chemical companies in Yanziji and Qixia area will be closed or shutdown. Basically clear out all chemical companies within Jiangnan Ring Road before 2015.

Control fugitive air of construction sites by hoarding, sprinkling, rinsing or covering and mandatorily replace backfilling earth, which used to cause big fugitive dust, with pre-mixed concrete and mortar. Monitor fugitive dust of construction sites, storage yards and roads and release monitoring results regularly.

Before 2012, gradually expand restriction region for yellow-labeled automobiles to within city ring road and update no less than 1500 buses and 8000 taxis to Stage IV emission standard. Before 2014 YOG, all taxis will reach Stage IV standard and all buses reach Stage III and above level.
