Construction Kick-off Ceremony for Demo Section of Outer Ming Dynasty City Wall-Qinhuai River Scenic Area was held on Xianhemen Square, Nanjing.
Outer Ming Dynasty City Wall-Qinhuai River Scenic Area is 50km long and its planned construction area is 15 square kilometers. Construction of the area will focus on restoration of cultural relics of the Ming Dynasty and landscaping. It will become a 100li long green eco-corridor encircling the main city.
As the first demo section, Xianhemen-Qilinmen part, totally 6.4km, will be constructed first. The historical features of this section have been reserved best. According to the planning, vehicle passing will be banned to turn the area into a pedestrian green corridor. Also, 5 parks including Xianhemen Site Park and Guishan Site Park will be built and completed before year-end.
In the scenic area project, another 3 demo sections will also be built this year: Outer Ming Dynasty City Wall, Ning-Hang Section of No.312 National Highway and Qinhuai New River-Ningdan Road-Fengdu Road section.
