Since the Great West Development Strategy was implemented ten years ago, the central government has subsidized nearly 400 billion Yuan to Xinjiang. In addition, a lot of preferential policies for talent and techniques have been made. The past ten years witnessed the best development of Xinjiang.

The Great West Development Strategy was implemented in 2000. At that time, the electric power supply in Xinjiang could only meet the need of the local place. Merely in ten years, Xinjiang has become an important electric power base in China. Such rapid development also happened in other fields in Xinjiang.

The infrastructure construction of road, water conservancy and electric power has formed a network for development of XJ's new type industrialization.

Taking Kuqa county for example, it was gobi desert in the past. Relying on the transformation of advantageous resources, the county has attracted 43 domestic and foreign companies with annual output value of 8.4 billion Yuan to start businesses in Kuqa.

In the past ten years, the fund from central government takes up over 80% of the total investment for key projects in Xinjiang. The fund is predicted to reach 2.1 trillion Yuan from 2011 to 2020. It is three times of the total financial support of the State to Xinjiang over the past 30 years.
