Meeting On Poverty Relief & Devt
The State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development and XJ People's Government jointly held XJ poverty alleviation and development conference on Wednesday morning. At the conference, policies and measures on fresh round of poverty alleviation and development in XJ were discussed and arranged.
The target of XJ poverty alleviation and development is to basically eliminate absolute poverty in 2020, and make the average per capita income increase of farmers and herdsmen be more than the national average.
Nuer Baikeli, deputy secretary of CPC XJ Committee, chairman of XJ Uygur Autonomous Region, and Fan Xiaojian, deputy head of the State Council Leading Group of Poverty Alleviation and Development and director of the Office attended the conference and made speeches.
Nuer Baikeli said that, the concerned departments at different levels should focus on the three prefectures of South XJ, frigid zones and border areas and carry out the poverty relief work.
Fan Xiaojian said that, based on the standard of last year, the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development will increase 30 percent of special fund to poverty relief, and give priorities to those key areas.
