Six industries to start engine for new energies

The plan defines not only the overall development objectives in the near future and in the long term, but also the development priorities of six industries, including wind power, new light sources, new energy automobiles, solar energy, nuclear power and biomass energy, putting forward the prioritization scheme and overall layout of the industrial chain.

On 20th April, Mayor Li Qihong presided over the 52nd Session of the Standing Committee of the Thirteenth Zhongshan Municipal People's Congress. Delegates of the meeting discussed the important issues of industrial development plan for new energies, public transportation and so on.

In 2009, the output value of new energy industry reached 30 billion yuan last year and it is expected to reach 100 billion yuan in 2012. Therefore, one of the most important tasks of the government work this year is to greatly develop the emerging industries, such as new energy industry and equipment manufacturing industry. Discussion and propose of The Plan of New Energy Industrial Development in Zhongshan and related policies in the meeting is a significant move for the government to seek for the new sources of economic growth and accelerate transformation of economic development.
The plan proposes to promote new energy industrial development and make it the pillar industry with core competitiveness in Zhongshan. Moreover, it defines not only the overall development objectives in the near future and in the long term, also the development priorities of six industries, including wind power, new light source, new energy automobiles, solar energy, unclear power and biomass energy, puts forward the prioritization scheme and overall layout of the industrial chain, emphasizes the importance of forming industrial clusters of those key industrials, and comes up with some supporting measures for these new energy industrial.
