On June 1, Party Secretary Chen Genkai emphasized at the Working Meeting of promoting the west line (3rd Phrase) of Guangzhou-Zhuhai highway project that the land acquisition work in Zhongshan should mobilize possible positive factors of town departments at all levels and municipal department should spare no efforts to support and coordinate well.
According to Guangdong Communication Department, the west line (3rd phrase) of Guangzhou-Zhuhai highway is to open in 2012. With a total length of 37.8 kilometers and together with the already-constructed the first and the upcoming opening the second phrase project, the west line (3rd phrase) will be the most important northward passageway of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. After its completion, there will be 4 convenient traffic arteries from Zhongshan to Zhuhai and Guangzhou.
