The 13th Guangdong Provincial Sports Meeting started in Huizhou City

The 13th Guangdong Provincial Sports Meeting started in Huizhou on 3rd of July. This is the grand opening ceremony, which is brilliantly lighted up by the LED technology.

Guangdong Provincial sports meeting was held every four years and 21 athlete teams from cities come to attend the cultural events. Member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, Guangdong CPC Committee Secretary Wang Yang declared the opening of the sports meeting and Governor of Guangdong Province Huang Huahua made the opening speech. Zhongshan sports team headed by Vice Mayor Tang Ying attended the ceremony.
7179 athletes from all over Guangdong came to attend the meeting. 237 sports events had been finished as the first stage by 3rd of July. In total 3303 athletes had competed for 298 golds.
Zhongshan Athlete Group consists of over 600 athletes and covers 21 major events. Its goal is to compete for the 5th place or at least maintain the 6th place in total scores and number of gold medals. Zhongshan Group is ranking the 7th in number of gold medals with 70.5 golds, 22 silvers and 36 bronzes and the 5th in the total score with 2862.5 points.
