Demand Recovery Drives Growth for Shantou's Furniture Export

With constant recovery of global economy, external demand recovery has greatly driven the continuous growth of Shantou's furniture export. In January 2011, the export of Shantou's furniture and its fittings achieved USD 21.4 million, increased by 72.2 compared with the same period last year.

In January 2011, 20 enterprises in Shantou had furniture export records, of which 2 enterprises had an export volume over USD 1 million. The United States is the major market for Shantou's furniture export. In January, the export to the United States was USD 19.09 million, increased by 72.3 , which accounted for 89.2 of the total furniture export. Export to EU in the same period was USD 866,000, increased by 73.5 .
