Shantou Becomes An Important Member of the "West Side of the Straits"

Recently, the State Council has officially approved the Development Plan of the Economic Zone on the West Side of the Strait reported by the National Development and Reform Commission, which has further specified the specific objectives, the division of tasks, the construction layout and the pilot policies for the construction of economic zone on the west side of the straits.

In the Plan, the geographic scope of the economic zone on the west side of the strait has been defined for the first time. Shantou, Meizhou, Chaozhou and Jieyang have become the cities of Guangdong Province included in the scope of the "west side of the strait" by the state.
