Guangdong's GDP grew 12.7 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2010, 1.6 percent higher than the national average, according to Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua at the 10th Guangdong CPC Committee's 7th plenary session last week. Fixed asset investment expanded a record 22.8 percent to 644.9 million RMB and import-export volume jumped 33.

9 percent to 345.2 million USD, said Huang. Despite a rebound in economic growth, Huang warned that Guangdong's foreign trade is still not stable. The pressure on industry restructuring and energy-saving as well as land price hikes will be the focus of the economic work in the second half of this year.
