Tongji Solar Building for European Solar Decathlon Began Construction

On February 2nd, the construction of Tongji solar building was started. The building would participate the 2010 European Solar Decathlon. The university Vice-President Chen Xiaolong, advisers and students of this project witnessed the commencement.
2010 European Solar Decathlon was to be held in Madrid, Spain this May. There were only 4 months left for the competition. Some students didn t go home for the Spring Festival because of the limited time. One student Yu Zhongqi from Tongji College of Architecture and Urban Planning had booked a plane ticket home, but canceled the order considering the project. He said he cherish this opportunity very much and hoped to achieve success through their joint effort. This practical experience in the project was valuable for him.
[t was learned that the organizer of this project got initial fund of 100,000 euros and was sponsored by relevant manufacturers, among whom Xinao Group offered 5 million Yuan.
