On the morning of July 9th, Mr Andrzej Lysiak, the Polish General Consul in Shanghai, visited the College of Politics and International Relations, and gave a wonderful and detailed report about the recent presidential election held in Poland, as well as the possible changes in domestic and foreign policy after the new president took office. According to the report from Mr. Andrzej Lysiak, that Polish new president elected from the ruling party was an important symbol to show the stability of Poland current political system and enviroment. He thought, the new president would have better cooperation with the government, and a more stable position in Europe would be expected, which also helped to play a greater international influence all over the world.
The report was held by Prof. Yang Ye, chairman of College of Politics and International Relations Europe Research Center. Prof. Xia Liping, dean of College of Politics and International Relations, gave welcome speech. Scholars of European Studies from Tongji University, Shanghai Insititute for European Studies, Shanghai International Studies University, Fudan University, East China Normal University, Shanghai Institute of International Studies, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, and other universities and research institutions in Shanghai, listened to the report.
Two scholars from Beijing Academy of Social Sciences Institute of East European were invited to participate in the report as well.
