On the morning of May 5th, 2010, the delegation led by Professor A.T.Miller, Dean of Global and Intercultural Research Center, University of Michigan (U-M), visited School of Literature, Communication University of China (CUC). President Assistant Liu Liqun representing CUC to have a conference with the delegation.
President Assistant Liu Liqun expressed her welcome to the arrival of the delegation, and presented CUC s situations of collegiate setting, disciplinary construction, teaching Chinese as a second language, and the Global Alliance of High Education in Media. Professor Miller showed his admiration and recognition for the achievements in media education and multi-cooperation mode between universities based on the Alliance, and expressed his thanks to Professor Zhao Xue , School of Literature, for promoting this visit and to CUC s enthusiastic reception. During the meeting, the two sides discussed exchange programs of students and teachers in the future, and reached cooperation intent, proposed by U-M, on about 20 U-M students attending CUC to receive an 8-week training program of Chinese and Chinese culture.
Zhang Hongsheng, Dean of School of Literature, introduced to the delegation the advantages of his school s curse setting and teaching sources, and accompanied the delegation to review the facilities of teaching, students activities, and dormitories for overseas students, etc.
U-M s Chinese teacher, Tang Le accompanied Prof. Miller. Prof. Zhao Xue, Director of Chinese Teaching and Research Section, School of Literature, and Zhang Yanqiu, Deputy Dean of International Exchange and Cooperation Department also attended the mentioned activities.
