On the morning of June 19, 2009, ShiDi Wu Buckley, the president of the International Community Broadcasting Association and his party came to our school and had a half-day exchange visit.
The exchange visit included watching the CUC publicizing film, having discussions with teachers, visiting our broadcasting lab and so on. Liu Liqun, the president assistant, and Zhang Lili, the director of the International Exchanges and Cooperation Office, had communication with the exchanges guests.
ShiDi Wu Buckley and his party expressed thanks to the warm reception of our school, and highly appreciated the size, characteristics, facilities, and conditions of our school. He then introduced the history and current situation of the International Community Broadcasting Association, as well as its project training within the global scope and the program it broadcasts. ShiDi Wu Buckley said that he was looking forward to more exchanges and cooperation with our school on personnel training, exchanging of students, compiling teaching materials and project development. Mr. Arsish sen, the vice chairman of the International Community Radio Association, and Marvic Cabu Ran Barzaya, the chairman of the international women network branch of the International Community Radio Association, respectively introduced current situation and development prospects in their own area.
After the meeting, ShiDi Wu Buckley and his party toured the television and radio laboratory in the TV& Journalism School.
Pan Li, the director of the Broadcasting Industry Research Institute; Li Lijun, the head of the Department of Asian and African Studies in Foreign Language Schoo; Li Jiangang, the director of the Experiments Center in TV & Journalism School, and some others from the Media and Women Study Center attended the meeting.
The International Community Broadcasting Association was founded in 1983, which is a large international organization. Now, it has absorbed more than 4,000 community radios to join, and its branches are spreading to 117 countries all over the world. The association aims to promote development of human equality through the media, with a purpose of promoting popularity and development of community radio in the global scale.
