CHINESE Commune at the Great Wall Chinese Restaurant, Commune Clubhouse, Great Wall, 8118-1888 A meal on the Great Wall used to be a stop-in at a random roadside restaurant (or family's home), or a packed lunch of apples, water, an assortment of crackers and biscuits stuffed into a knapsack. Times have changed. Now you can dine in style at the Commune by the Great Wall's newly opened restaurant located in the Commune Clubhouse. The Commune by the Great Wall has created an oasis at NAME OF AREA with their upper-class housing project that opened in WHAT YEAR. A series of commissioned housing compounds, and luxury facilities are in stark contrast to the relatively vacant landscape dominated by the Great Wall. The Commune Clubhouse was designed by Seung H-sang. They are presenting a new dining concept for those who make the journey out. Menus will vary and change according to food in season and to begin with they'll be serving "Jing, Chuan, Yue" food - Beijing style, Sichuan style, and Canton style food. With each food type prepared, chefs have carefully selected wines that enhance the flavors presenting a wide range of new wines to Beijing, that have yet to be matched with Asian cuisine. All the food is inspired by provincial favorites with the added touch of international flair in presentation. Their "Commune Cuisine" kitchen also will be preparing Continental and Western dishes. The menu includes items such as Bird's nest sauteed in consomme, sea eel with crisply deep-fried almond flakes and lemon sauce, Tartlets with egg custard and bird's nest from Indonesia, shark's fin selections, vegetarian options such as pear wedges with mixed vegetables wrapped in bean curd and served with rice vinegar, and more. Guests can indulge in desserts as well: tiramisu, marble chocolate mousse and green tea cheese cake to name a few. The restaurant can house up to 150 guests at one time, with a bar and theme rooms within each courtyard. Gardens, a massive dining hall, and a minimalist feel - the building constructed from wood, steel plate and concrete. - QA Food: **** |
