Sany Heavy Industry Wins Second Prize of National Science and Technology Advancement Award

Sany Heavy Industry Co Ltd was granted the second prize of National Science and Technology Advancement Award for a leading project entitled Engineering Machinery Technology Innovation Platform Development on January 14, 2011 in the People s Great Hall of Beijing.

The awarding ceremony, chaired by Vice Premier Li Keqiang, was also attended by President Hu Jintao, Premier Wen Jiabao, Vice President Xi Jinping and Li Changchun.

Sany Heavy Industry was the only engineering machinery manufacturer awarded the national honor in China. Mr. Xiang Wenbo, president of Sany Heavy Industry attended the ceremony to receive the award.

The fast and sustainable growth of Sany is attributed to our balanced strategies driven by innovation. We regard this award as a symbol of support for the patterns and results of innovation achieved by privately-owned enterprises, said President Xiang.

This is the second time Sany Heavy Industry has won a national award for R&D achievements to date. In 2005, it won the second prize of National Science and Technology Advancement Award for R&D and Application of Key Concrete Pumping Technology .

In 1998, Sany Heavy Industry kicked off the project of Engineering Machinery Technology Innovation Platform Development . It has invested a total of RMB 5 billion in the past thirteen years on this project. Through in-depth research and study of benchmarking enterprises, Sany Heavy Industry has made consistent efforts to improve its innovation platform and forged a new innovation pattern tailored to equipment and machinery manufacturers. Thus, it has enhanced its soft power or core competitiveness and guaranteed the capability of sustainable innovation.
