Having built the Shanghai World Financial Center, which reaches a world-record-breaking height of 492m, Sany equipment again poured 13,300m3 of concrete in construction of Shanghai POS Plaza, which assured the successful construction of a landmark building in Shanghai.
Shanghai POS Plaza is located in Shanghai's most prosperous area, and the construction entity employed 6 Sany pump trucks, 4 trailer-mounted concrete pumps and over 40 mixing trucks in the construction process. While communicating with the customer, Zhang Bin, director of former Puxi Service Office, sensed the project's significance. Therefore, he proactively requested that a whole-course service should be provided to the construction, in addition to reporting his request to the branch company. Xie Zhixia, the general manager of Sany Shanghai-based branch, thus required that Puxi Service Office should offer strong support to ensure the smooth construction.
The construction was officially started at 4 o'clock a.m., and the service engineers from Puxi Service Office had arrived at the site two days before, in order to overhaul all construction equipments and ensure the equipments' optimal state. When the construction was launched, Puxi Service Office offered a whole-course service for this project by employing a two-shift mechanism, and the engineer on duty ate instant noodle or took a nap in a service vehicle. A pump truck operator said to Yu Jianjun (a service engineer): "You can come here in the event of troubleshooting, and construction site is unfavorable for you to take a rest." Yu Jianjun replied: "It is my duty and I cannot sleep well until I fulfill my duty." Hearing the words, the operator was moved.
At 3 a.m., owing to operational faults, one pump truck failed to work. Having been informed of the message, service engineer Qin Jianhua, who had just completed inspection of the equipments and taken a nap in the service vehicle, immediately got up and maintained such equipment despite heavy rain. At that time, the construction entity worried that the long repair time might affect normal construction, and they contacted the mixing plant for another pump truck. Prior to the supporting pump truck's arrival, such equipment was repaired. The head of the construction entity held Qin Jianhua's greasy hands and said: "Thanks! I can sleep well owing to your efforts." At 0:00 o'clock a.m. next day, the service come to an end successfully with the last cubic meter of concrete poured.
It was learned that the Shanghai POS Plaza is located near to Century Avenue, Finance Trade Zone, Lujiazui, with a total built-up area amounting to 98,130 square meters, and such a plaza consists of 34-floor office buildings on ground, 4-floor underground office buildings, and 4-floor apron buildings. Shanghai POS Plaza is adjacent to renowned buildings like Pudong New District Government, Century Park, Shanghai Science & Technology Museum and Oriental Art Center, etc. In addition, Shanghai POS Plaza is wholly invested by Pohang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. (one of World Top 500), and elaborately designed by I.M.PEI Associates. The building's design philosophy integrates Chinese traditional idea of "Round Heaven and Square Earth", which offers ancient oriental cultural connotations. When construction is completed, the Shanghai POS Plaza will become another landmark building in Lujiazui Finance & Trade Zone of Shanghai.
