On July 25, Xiang Wenbo (President of Sany Heavy Industry) and Liu Chengye (General Manager of Guangdong Power Engineering Corporation) signed an agreement to officially launch the development project of the 1600t crawler crane.
Guangdong Power Engineering Corporation boasts of Level I general contract qualification in power engineering construction, and its line of business covers numerous fields including construction of conventional thermal power plants, new energy projects (like gas-steam combined cycle power plants and wind power plants) and nuclear plants. On July 3, 2007, Shanghai Sany Science & Technology Co., Ltd signed an intention agreement with it to jointly develop the 1600t crawler crane, which will be used to lift the core components of the nuclear plant construction project contracted by Guangdong Power Engineering Corporation. The maximum lifting torque of the 1600t crawler crane (SCC16000) will exceed that of its kind at abroad.
It was learned that in April, 2011, the 1600t crawler crane will be used to lift the key components of the internationally most advanced 3G EPR machines (Areva, France) for Yangjiang Nuclear Power Plant Construction Project contracted by Guangdong Power Engineering Corporation, which will mark the first time the domestically-manufactured ultra tonnage crawler crane is approved to lift the core components of 3G nuclear power plant construction project.
