Xiang Wenbo elected as deputy to NPC
In March 2008, Sany Heavy Industry's President Xiang Wenbo was honored as deputy to the Eleventh National People's Congress. Xiang Wenbo is the second Sany's senior leader that has been elected as deputy to the National People's Congress after Chairman Liang Wengen. Liang Wengen was consecutively elected as deputy to the Eighth, Ninth and Tenth national people's congresses.
Liang Yezhong elected as member of CYL Central Committee
On June 12, 2008, Liang Yezhong, secretary of Sany's CYL Committee, who was attending the Sixteenth National People's Congress of the CYL, was honored as member of the 16th Central Committee of the CYL. The election is an affirmation of Sany's Party building by the Central Committee of the CYL, as well as a motivation to carry out youth work in new economic organizations.
China Charity Award
On December 5, Sany Group was presented with the 'China Charity Award" for 2008 by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. Set up by the Ministry of Civil Affairs in 2005, the award is the highest government award in the sphere of charity. Secretary General Hu Jintao met with the representatives of the winners, and made an important speech.
Granted two national honors for quake relief
In June 2008, the Sany Quake Relief Commando was listed among the 'Top 10 Outstanding Volunteer Collectives"by the Central Committee of the CYL and the Chinese Young Volunteers Association, and "Heroic Volunteer Collectives for Quake Relief" by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security ad the Central Committee of the CYL.
Global Top 50 Construction Machinery Manufacturers
In July, as a result of the"2008 Global Top 50 Engineering Machinery Manufacturers"presented by China Construction Machinery, Sany Group was placed 20th with a sales income of $1.851 billion. In the list, Sany was ranked 2nd in the growth rate of sales volume and operating profit.
China Top 500 Enterprises
On August 30, Sany was listed among "2008 China Top 500 Enterprises".
Sany Group was ranked 463rd with an operating income of 5.02742 billion yuan among China Top 500 Enterprises in 2005, and climbed to 347th with an operating income of 13.50247 billion yuan in 2008.
Best Employers
On June 19, as a result of the "6th Best Employers of Chinese University Students"sponsored by chinahr.com in Beijing, Sany Group became the first winner of the honor from Hunan, as well as the only construction machinery enterprise among the 3,700 candidates.
Top 10 Listed Companies in Social Responsibility
In August, at the Summit & Awarding Ceremony for Top 100 Chinese Listed Companies in Main Board Value, Sany Heavy Industry became the biggest winner with a sweep of major awards including "Top 10 Listed Companies in Social Responsibility", "Top 10 Main Board Management Teams", "Top 10 Enterprises in Main Board" and"Top 10 Secretaries of Boards of Directors"
Best Asia-Pacific Service Award
On December 12, Sany Heavy Industry was granted the "Best Asia-Pacific Service Award". It was unanimously acknowledged by the judges, specialists and scholars for its advantages such as innovative service concept, perfect service system and abundant service resources.
