On January 4, SUNY 9-member President Delegation, led by Dr. John Monroe Anderson (President of Alfred State collage, SUNY ) paid a visit to SWPU. Mr. Chen Ping, Vice President of SWPU, together with nine deans and directors of schools and departments, SWPU met the delegation in the meeting room 810 #, Office Building.
First of all, Mr. Chen Ping made a welcome speech to the SUNY President Delegation. He expressed his heartfelt thanks to SUNY for offering the opportunity to the 7 students of SWPU from the earthquake-stricken area who could study in SUNY for free from 2008-2009. After that, he made a general introduction to the history of SWPU, as well as programs, researches and teaching at SWPU which could be a bridge for developing the mutual closer relationships.
During the meeting, Dr. John Monroe Anderson spoke highly of the 7 students by saying that they brought vigor and vitality to SUNY.
Both parties had a pleasant talk about the cooperation and exchange programs between the universities in the future. Finally, SUNY and SWPU agreed that they would begin the cooperation by teacher or student exchange programs in the summer holiday. And the expanded cooperation programs would follow up.
Before and after the meeting, the distinguished guests visited the Student Training Center and the Museum of SWPU History.
