December 6 - A studio group from Yekaterinburg, Russia, visited GDUFS two weeks ago to make a cultural documentary promoting Guangzhou for the Confucius Institution of the University of Ural. Liang Jie, Vice Director of the GDUFS International Office, received the guests on the North Campus. Then, both sides worked together to come up with a filming schedule.
Supported by the Chinese Language Council International, the studio group portrayed Guangzhou by showing its many dimensions in the promo. Ancient Guangzhou was captured at historical sites such as the Huangpu Old Port and Lingnan Impression Park, and these scenes were juxtaposed with modern architectural feats, such as the Higher Education Mega Centre of Guangzhou, and the Guangzhou Science City. This multi-dimensional approach was used to encapsulate the history and development of Guangzhou. The studio group also went on the Pearl River Night Cruise and spent some time downtown to grasp a deeper understanding of the city. As well, portraits of oversea students learning at GDUFS were used in the promo to show the internationalization of Guangzhou.
