About Japanese Tea House Project at GDUFS
In April 2009, GDUFS unveiled the first Japanese tea house in South China. The project was sponsored by the Japan agency of Official Development Assistance to China with a donation of US$81,000. Designed by the Urasenke school, the tea house is 30 square meters in size with traditional Japanese wooden widows and rice paper window panes. The inscription above the teahouse entrance is calligraphy by Zabosai, the 16th generation master of Urasenke. The three characters, which read Jia Le An in Chinese, indicate happy days.
