Summit On Development Strategy of Nansha District Takes Place in Guangzhou

Dean Chen Yong pointed out that new concepts and strategies must be taken to better the development of Nansha District. He stated that it is essential to make a thorough plan for the functional district, and said that technology innovation, low carbon emissions, harmonious elements and environment-friendly methods should be emphasized in the development.

Mr. Li Huiwu stated that as China is in an economic transformation period, the development of Nansha District is included in the 12th Five-Year Plan, which indicates the central government's expectation to pioneer Guangdong reformers. He held that as the "new city" of Guangzhou, Nansha should focus on the designing of the economic structure, and improvement of traffic, the quality of life and the environment.

Mr. Ni Mingxuan pointed out that the newness of the Nansha District not only provides a plethera of natural resources, but also of talented people. The future of Nansha District will depend on investment and people. For the problems arising in Nansha District, Mr. Sui Guangjun shared that because Nansha stands on the outskirts of Guangzhou and because the function of Nansha overlaps with that of Hong Kong and Macao,the development of Nansha District may be slowed down.

At the end of the summit, Mr.Sun Lei made a concluding speech that Nansha District will seriously consider the valuable advice proposed in the meeting and make some changes in the development.
