Governor Economic Adviser Delivers Lecture in GDUT

On the afternoon of November 20, Professor Boer, Economic Advisor of Guangdong governor, Executive Committee Chairman of Global Intelligent Manufacturing Systems Organization delivers a lecture titled "Sustainable manufacturing innovation and international cooperation in the University s main campus.
In view of the deteriorating environment and running out resources, Professor Boer begins his lecture by introducing the evolution of manufacturing mode and its focus shift from consumer to market, and its return to consumer. By elaborating on the transformation, he describes vividly the relationship between knowledge and innovation. Professor s elaboration leads to two key concepts, namely, Minimum Manufacturing and Maximum Serving . The core of the two concepts is that through manufacturing innovation, humankind can use minimal resources and energy consumption, minimum waste of resources to achieve maximum functionality and services. At the end of his lecture, professor Boer raises one solution for manufacturing innovation-mass customization, which is a combination of innovations in products concept, designing, development, manufacturing, distribution and service.
University Vice President Professor Zhang Li hosts the lecture and more than one hundred teachers and students attend the lecture.
