On October 29 2009, Vice president Professor Zhang Li met the director of Foreign Affairs Office of Freiburg University of Technology Ms. Katja Polanski.
Professor Zhang first expressed her welcome to the guests and appreciated them for their willingness to cooperate with GDUT. She briefly introduced the situation of GDUT and the newest development and said that the university was willing to develop cooperation with Freiburg University of Technology in exchange of students and staff and joint research to promote the university s internationalization.
Ms. Katja Polanski paid a charming compliment on the university s beautiful campus. She said she was much impressed by the large scale of GDUT. Both of the two universities are universities of engineering and had a good basis for cooperation. She hoped the two universities could develop substantive cooperation
After the meeting, Director of Foreign Affairs Office Ms. Fang Lingling had an in-depth discussion with Ms. Katja Polanski on the specific cooperation between the two universities.
On October 27 2009, Professor Heinz Konietzky from Institute of Geological Exploration Technology of Freiburg University of Technology had an academic communication with professors of Faculty of Civil and Transportation Engineering. Both of the two sides showed their interest in joint research and joint training of graduate students. Professor Heinz Konietzky invited professors of GDUT to attend the geological exploration technology international conference which would be held in Freiburg University of Technology in October 2010.
