ZSTU organizes Light Textile Education Award reviewing conference

Sponsored by China Textile and Apparel Education Society (CTAES) and organized by ZSTU, Light Textile Education Award reviewing conference was held in Hangzhou during October, 12^th 14^th. Ni Yangsheng President of CTAES, Wei Kan Secretary-General of Light Textile Science and Technology Education Foundation and representatives from Donghua University, Beijing Institute of Clothing, Tianjin Polytechnic University, Xi an Polytechnic University, Wuhan Institute of Science and Technology, Zhongyuan Institute of Technology and ZSTU attended the meeting. Fei Junqing Party Secretary and President Qiu Songliang extended a warm welcome.

At the conference, representatives introduced the situation of appraisal work of Light Textile teaching awards and scholarship of 2009 in sequence and exchanged opinions on how to carry out the work and enhance the influence of the foundation.

Ni Yangsheng listened carefully and delivered a speech afterwards. He highly appreciated the achievements every college has made on putting the work requirements into effect and perfecting the working system. As for the future work, Mr. Ni emphasized that every school should adhere to the principle of being fair, open and impartial, carry out the requirements strictly and further improve the actual effect of the assessment work.

After the meeting, representatives visited Xiasha campus of ZSTU with great interest.

It is reported that the predecessor of Light Textile Science and Technology Education Foundation is Qian Zhiguang Science and Technology Education Foundation. It aims to reward the technical staff with outstanding contributions in textile and with scientific and technical payoffs in original and integrative innovations and reward the excellent teachers and students in textile education for setting examples. Up till now, 4 teachers have won Light Textile teaching awards and over 100 students been awarded Light Textile scholarship in ZSTU.
