2010 Cross-Strait Economic and Management Symposium, hosted jointly by ZSTU and Minghsin University of Science and Technology (MUST) and organized by School of Economics and Management of ZSTU, was held at ZSTU. Present at the opening ceremony were ZSTU vice-President Shen Manhong, Associate Dean Wei Longbao from School of Management of Zhejiang University(ZJU), Associate Dean Gu Guoda from College of Economics of ZJU, Dean Chen Chen-Tung from College of Management of University System of Taiwan(UST), Dean Wen-Tsann Lin from College of Management of National Chin-Yi University of Technology(NCUT), Chairman Tzu-Chang Yeh from Department of Finance of MUST, and principals from ZSTU International Exchange and Cooperation Division, Science and Technology Division, and the administration unit of ZSTU School of Economics and Management. Dean of ZSTU School of Economics and Management presided over the opening ceremony.
Shen Manhong delivered the speech in which he extended great welcome to the honorable guests, expressed congratulations on the successful opening of the Symposium, and sent high expectations for participants active involvement in the thematic discussion of the Symposium the New Future of Cross-Strait Economy and Trade and Business Management in the Post Financial Crisis Era.
After the opening ceremony, Wei Longbao, Gu Guoda and Chen Chen-Tung delivered their speeches respectively on the topics The Massive Economy of Zhejiang , Cross-Strait Trade and Economic Development of Taiwan and The Research Trend of Management Decision Analytical Mode of Semantic Decision-Making . Their speeches were so splendidly delivered that the audience were greatly attracted. In the afternoon, the honorable guests from more than 10 higher education schools and research institutions across the Strait had heated discussions on various topics including cross-strait business management, international finance and business investment and financing, information technology and management, industrial economy and international trade.
During the Symposium, ZSTU School of Economics and Management signed cooperation memo with USTCollege of Management and MUSTCollege of Management, which opened up a new era for cooperation between ZSTU School of Management and Economics and Taiwan universities and colleges.
Cross-Strait Economic and Management Symposium was initiated by ZSTU School of Economics and Management and MUSTCollege of Management. Both parties take turns to hold this annual meeting aiming at exploring the present and future of cross-strait business development and promoting economic and academic exchange. The first Symposium was held at MUST in 2007 and there has been in all four sessions by this year.
