STU and Shantou Municipal Bureau of Ocean and Fishery Sign Scientific Cooperation Agreement

On the morning of March 25th, STU and the Shantou Municipal Bureau of Ocean and Fishery held a scientific cooperation meeting and agreement signing ceremony. More than 40 people attended the ceremony, including Shantou Deputy Mayor Zhang Yingjie, STU Vice President Wen Xiaobo, Chief of Shantou Municipal Bureau of Ocean and Fishery Huang Wenhui, Director of STU Scientific Research Department Hu Zhong, as well as leaders and responsible persons from each department in the Bureau of Ocean and Fishery, teacher representatives from STU Marine Biology courses and related interdisciplinary subjects, and relevant staff from Scientific Research Department.

Director Hu Zhong and Chief Huang Wenhui signed the Framework Agreement for Cooperation between Shantou Municipal Bureau of Ocean and Fishery and Shantou University. STU teacher representatives and members of the Bureau discussed issues like the protection of marine bio-diversity, breeding of new marine species, restoration of marine ecosystems, tapping of new marine energy, marine ecologic indemnification, legislation and law enforcement of island protection. The communication enhanced both parties' ideas for cooperation and introduced many new points for discussion.
