President of YunTech visits SCUT

On Dec 20, Prof. YANG Yongbin, president of National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (abbreviated as YunTech) and academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, visited SCUT and was appointed as an emeritus professor of SCUT. LI Yuanyuan, president of SCUT, met the guest in the Third Conference room.

YANG expressed his gratitude to LI for his warm welcome. He introduced to the attendees the schooling and advantageous disciplines of YunTech. He pointed out that YunTech ranked third in the category of science and technology in over 170 universities of Taiwan, and that it had the similar education concept to that of SCUT in the field of scientific research and patent. At last, YANG expressed his hope that both part could go further in academic exchanges and mutual understanding to achieve an in-depth and substantive cooperation.

On the ceremony, LI presented YANG the letter of appointment as well as souvenirs on behalf of SCUT. Then both parts signed a memorandum of understanding on further exchanges.

LI showed the guest around the campus and introduced to him the distinctive historical sites and architectural landscapes in SCUT. YANG remarked: "LI is easy-going and has good sense of humor."
