Dr. Andre Goeffient from Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium visited the joint lab for brain function and health of Jinan University from Oct. 8 to Oct. 30.
During his visit, Dr. Goeffient met the experts in the lab including Prof. Zhou Libing, Prof. So Kwokfai and Prof. Ruan Yiwen and held a seminar on the topic of Neurobiology. He made his own prediction on the possible problems in the ongoing experiments in the lab, and carried out the adjusted solution for the problems. Meanwhile, Dr. Andre Goeffient made valuable comments on the laboratory equipment configuration and international standards of biosafety making. During the visit of animal center, Dr. Goeffient gave a detailed explanation on the requirements.
While working in the lab, Dr. Goeffient trained graduate students and laboratory technicians for plasmid implying, genotyping of transgenic mice and Golgi staining. He explained the key principle of each step and put forward plenty of effective and practical advice based on his wealthy experimental experience.
Considering the achievement such as the introduction of the general field of neurobiology research progressing as well as the latest series of hot issues, the education on the basic theoretical knowledge of neural development, the conducting of a training with a formal scientific method and the valuable advice on the management in addition to the educating quality of the joint laboratory, this visit is a successful international academic cooperation and effective communication.
