From November 5 to 10, commissioned by President Hu Jun, Assistant President Professor Wang Zhiwei was invited to Japan to attend the 50th anniversary of Hiroshima Shudo University. He also visited Kobe University, Doshisha University and Togakuin in Japan. Members of the delegation included Prof Zeng Yiping and Prof. Yu Huifen from the college of Chinese Language and Culture and International Affairs Office respectively.
Our university and Hiroshima Shudo University signed cooperation agreement in 1993. In 2008, President Hu Jun and Vice President Lin Rupeng were invited to attend the opening ceremony of Hiroshima Shudo University, and then some cooperation such as student exchange was carried out between the two sides. This time, Prof. Wang Zhiwei, on behalf of President Hu Jun, delivered a speech at the ceremony and presented souvenirs to express the blessing of all the teachers and students of Jinan. Hiroshima Shudo University promised that from next year, the number of exchange students it received will be appropriately increased.
Kobe University is one of Japan's prestigious national universities. The delegation visited its leading Shipment Packing Laboratory, and held talks on further expanding exchange and cooperation areas between the two sides in various forms, such as cooperation in scientific research, co-organizing a joint symposium and training of post-graduate students.
Founded in 1875, Doshisha University is one of Japan's four leading private universities. Five teachers or graduates from Doshisha are Nobel Laureates. The delegation s visit was attached great importance to by Doshisha University who, knowing the delegation was coming, convened a special meeting to discuss the cooperation agreement based on the previous talks between the two sides and finally adopted the resolution to establish partnerl relationship and to start exchange student program next spring; Vice-President for Foreign Affairs received the delegation and chaired the talks between our delegation and the International and other departments of Doshisha.
The delegation also visited the business school of Doshisha and extensive discussion was carried out on the cooperation and exchange of MBA education between the two schools.
Togakuin Univerisity is the largest professional school group in Japan as well as the originator of Japan s engineering universities. The delegation visited Togakuin and discussed intensively and extensively the program of international Chinese education before reaching consensus on the cooperation mode and relevant issues.
In Tokyo, the delegation also visited Tongyuan Chinese School where talks were held with directors of Sino-Japanese Cultural Exchange Center.
