On June 4, Professor Jeremy Clegg, a leading international economist from University of Leeds, came to Zhejiang University with his team members. Prof. Clegg gave a lecture entitled EU-China Investment Relations & Chinese Outward Foreign Direct Investment .
Prof. Clegg introduced some pioneering issues in FDI research, pointed out the significance of micro-enterprise data in the study of foreign direct investment of developing countries, and provided the latest report on foreign direct investment of Chinese enterprises released by CCPIT. Prof. Clegg also elaborated on the Global Factory Theory jointly developed with Professor Peter Buckley, and analyzed the present stage of EU-China investment with the theory, which also provided a very good explanation of the current roles of EU and Chinese enterprises from a global perspective.
