Brown University Delegation Visits Zhejiang University

On May 10, Presideng Yang Wei met with a delegation from Brown University headed by Vice President for International Affairs Matthew Gutmann. President Yang Wei welcomed the delegation and briefed the guests on the latest progress of international cooperation and future plans for development. Vice President Gutmann expressed their hope to strengthen bilateral cooperation and exchange in more disciplines.

Brown International Advanced Research Institutes have been successfully held summer research seminars. The Institutes provide two-week academic seminars for young scholars from more than 150 different countries on the themes of climate change, engineering, humanities and so on. Scholars of Star Program at Zhejiang University will attend these activities to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation.

During their stay, the Brown delegation visited Zijingang, Yuquan, Huajiachi campus and discussed with Department of Urban Planning, Institute of Population and Development etc. on further cooperation.

Bown University is one of the Ivy League Universities. As a research university, Brown University enjoys a high reputation in the academic circles in the U.S. with first rate development of disciplines such as humanities and classical literature. Since 2007, Brown University and Zhejiang University have signed agreement on cooperation and academic exchange.
