Zhejiang University Delegation Visited Terumo Medical Corporation, Japan

From Apr. 8 to 9, invited by Akira Takahashi, President of Terumo Medical Corporation, Japan, a exchange delegation headed by Vice Chancellor Zheng Qiang visited the corporate headquarters of Terumo located in Tokyo, its plant in ShizuokaPrefecture and Research & Development center in Shyonan.

Terumo Medical Corporation was established in 1921 and is now the leading medical product manufacturing company in Japan. The ZhejiangUniversity delegation was composed of some faculty members and 14 graduate students who won 2009 International Exchange Scholarship Terumo .

On the morning of Apr. 8, the delegation visited Terumo headquarter in Tokyo. Akira Takahashi, President of Terumo Medical Corporation, warmly welcomed the delegation with a welcome speech and brief introduction of the history, products and sales of the corporation. Vice Chancellor Zheng Qiang and graduate student Shen Li made a statement of appreciation on behalf of students winning 2009 International Exchange Scholarship Terumo . On the second day, the delegation visited the Terumo plant in ShizuokaPrefecture and R & D center in Shyonan. Members were deeply impressed by Terumo Medical Pranex in which simulated human body models are employed to simulate the medical process with complexity. After the visit, Vice Chancellor Zheng Qiang again expressed sincere thanks to the company on behalf of the delegation.
