On May 10, a cultural show was put on at Zhejiang University in honor of 50th birthday of Zhejiang University Red Cross Association.

Established in 1960, Zhejiang University Red Cross Association is oldest Red Cross association in Chinese universities. With "Humanitarian, fraternity and dedication" as its motto and "saving life, helping the poor, respecting the handicapped" as its mission, Zhejiang University Red Cross Association has served the community well and enrolled more than 3000 members. In 2007, the Association was awarded as National Model University Red Cross Association.

In recent years, Zhejiang University Red Cross Association has held activities including medical training, peer education, sign language seminars, AIDS prevention advocacy and so on to promote the Red Cross humanitarian culture. After the 2008 quake, members of the Association took timely action to organize fund-raising activities in schools to express their love for people in the quake-stricken areas. The Association also held summer camps and donation activities to help less fortunate children with their school. All these activities show care and love of the Association for the community.
