Zhejiang University Received Another Generous Donation from Mr. Duan Yongping

Recently, Mr. Duan Yongping, Zhejiang University alumnus living in America, donated 3.5 million Yuan to Zhejiang University through XinPing Foundation.

In 2006, Mr. Duan Yongping, his wife Ms. Liu Xin, and Mr. Ding Lei, CEO of NetEase, donated 40 million US Dollars to support the construction and development of Zhejiang University, of which 20 million Dollars were to be used as matching funds on a one-to-one basis. In 2009, the Duan couple donated an additional 7,600,000 Yuan to aid the sixth issue of Zhejiang University matching funds.

In January 2010, Academician Cen Kefa donated a tatal of 3.5 million Yuan to Zhejiang University Education Foundation, including the grant from Chinese Academy of Sciences, various award bonuses, performance allowances etc. Informed of this, Mr. Duan immediately decided to donated the same amount of money as matching fund for Cen s donation.

As a significance source of financial support, the matching funds at Zhejiang University have provided financial aid for more than 400 projects up to now.
