President Yang Wei Visited Universities in Japan and South Korea

From Apr. 1 to 8, President Yang Wei visited Kyoto University, University of Tokyo, Korea University, Seoul National University, Yonsei University and other universities to further promote inter-exchange and cooperation. During the visit, President Yang also attended the annual meeting of "Zhejiang University Fuji Electric Innovation Center".

President Yang visited Kyoto University with the accompany of Zhang Yunsheng. PresidentHiroshi Matsumoto of Kyoto University warmly welcomed Zhejiang University delegation. The two principals happily recalled "Kyoto Day" held at Zhejiang University in 2009. President Yang briefed the university profile and internationalization strategy.

At University of Tokyo, President Yang and President Junichi Hamada held talks on cooperation plans. President Yang introduced the research in low carbon technology, China Studies at Zhejiang University, and the university's participation in high-speed railway construction and local cooperation in science and technology. The two principals reached agreement on student exchange programs, academic exchanges in teaching and scientific research.

At Korea University, President Yang Wei briefly introduced the achievements of Zhejiang University in recent years while Vice President of KU expressed strong hope that the two universities will deepen the inter-school cooperation in terms of student and teacher exchange programs, dual-degree projects. President Yang showed support to the cooperation programs in the hope of promoting academic exchanges with South Korea.

At Seoul National University, President Lee Jang-Moo reviewed his visit to Zhejiang University in 2007 and briefed the delegation on the management and financial status of SNU. The two principals both expressed the aspiration to reinforce inter-school cooperation. President Yang wrote an inscription for Seoul National University.

At Yonsei University, President Yang Wei and President Kim Han-Joong signed an agreement on academic exchange and student exchange program. During their talk, President Kim introduced their new campus under construction and hoped that Zhejiang University will become a partner university of Yonsei University and participate in the curriculum construction of their International School. President Yang introduced the 1 + 1 model of China Studies and cooperative projects with Singapore government and showed support to the curriculum construction of their International School.

While in Tokyo, President Yang was invited to visit Fuji Electric Group. President Yang attended the annual meeting of Zhejiang University Fuji Electric Systems R & D Center and listened to their annual report. The two sides also held discussion on the development of Zhejiang University Fuji Electric Innovation Cente and future cooperation.
