Zhejiang University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University Collaborate on Nurturing Managerial Talent

Zhejiang University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University started collaborative master program of science in quality management. The two sides organized a forum on the topic of "Pursuing Excellence in Quality Management, Building Strong Brand of China" in Xixi Campus.

The forum invited Professor Xiong Wei, deputy director of the Institute of Decision Optimization, as well as Professor Xiang Chuanxin from Hong Kong Polytechnic University to respectively host discussions on two designated subjects, namely "Excellent Quality Management System to Build the Overall Competitive Edge" and "Six Sigma and Trends in Quality Management".

The master program of science in quality management jointly foundeded by ZJU and HK PolyU is currently the only MBA program in mainland China. After more than 10 years, this program has turned out an extensively influential alumni network. Every year, the two sides will jointly organize forums and invite distinguished corporate CEOs as speakers to help students incorporate knowledge into indigenous managerial situation and international cases.

In 1997, Zhejiang University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University collaboratively founded the International Executive Development Center, which aims at utilizing the advantages of both universities by offering modern management courses of high quality and training senior management personnel with international perspective, familiarity with Chinese indigenous situation and managerial skills as well as a sense of social responsibility.
