On the afternoon of Mar. 29th, the kick-off ceremony of "Study China Program" for UK university students was held on Zijingang campus, Zhejiang University. President Yang Wei attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
About a hundred UK students from 51 universities start their journey of cultural experience. "Study China Program" is a short-term exchange and learning program funded by British government and sponsored by University of Manchester. It's aimed at promoting UK students' understanding of China and guiding their academic and career planning. Zhejiang University hosted this program in 2008 for the first time.
During the event, the participants will take courses in Chinese history, economy, painting, calligraphy, martial arts and so on. They will also visit some scenic spots in Zhejiang Province as well as joint-ventures and private enterprises.
